Eye care projects in Mongolia

I would like to thank you and your team for all your support in providing glasses to the Mongolian eye care project. One of the aims of the work is to provide care to patients who would have great difficulty accessing care due to the remoteness of the communities in which they live. With the support of the Mongolian Lions as well as the local ophthalmology community were traveled to very remote regions of Mongolia where we dispensed over 500 pairs of glasses and the remainder of the glasses were left behind for the local ophthalmologists to continue the work (after we had left within one week they had dispensed another 500 plus pairs of glasses).

As an added benefit the ophthalmology residents (ophthalmologists in training) had an opportunity to refract patients and this gave them very valuable experience towards their training.

Our commitment to providing care to Mongolia is a long term one and we will be undertaking two such trips per annum.
