Lions District N-4 completed its 4th international mission, and third to Haiti, on October 3.

The team consisted of 3 Lions, 1 optometrist and 1 volunteer from the provincial Department of Justice and Public Safety who oversees our recycling program. Also joining us were two local representatives of the Leo (youth) Club in Port au Prince. The mission focused mainly on local factory workers and an organization that supports HIV positive mothers and children from Cité Soleil, one of the poorest neighbourhoods in our hemisphere.

The clinic saw 825 people (a new record) and set a single day record of 224 (a new record). Final eyeglass dispensing numbers are being tabulated but are forecast to be over 500.

If you are receiving this email it is because you support our mission in some way. On behalf of the Lions/Broken Earth eye team and all of the patients….thank you.
